THE MIGHTY THREES

AFRICA SHALL STRETCH FORTH HER HAND

* * *

1979 - Makasound - studio - discs: 1

By the mid 70's a trio of vocalists formed by Bernard Brown, Noel "Bunny" Brown and Carlton Gregory shined for a very brief moment. They recorded the present set plus its Dub version. This re-release contains both, with the latter commented separately. Noel Brown's first recording was made in 1963 when he cut "Bachelor Boy", a track credited to Noel & The Wild Cats. He later recorded as a cofounder of the Chosen Few, before founding The Mighty Threes. The sound of The Mighty Threes is basecally average late 70's Roots spiced by their confident vocal harmonizations. The original album contained seven tracks: "Backyard Movement", "Good Things Going On", "Don't Say You Don't Love", "Nearer To Africa", "Rasta Business", "Sinking In The Mist" and "Sata". The present release adds their original debut, the single ""One Black People" plus its Dub called "One Black Dub".

The "Dub" album from the Mighty Threes is the direct companion of "Africa Shall Stretch Forth Her Hand" from the same year (1979). Among the song there are some interesting tracks: "Sata Dub", "Rasta Business Dub". The rest does not brings anything more than what can be found in the original tracks.
